A little while ago I wondered what bag to wear for the Hermès Festival des Métiers? I figured it would be a colorful day, so the choice was an easy one and I chose my PM Vibrato Picotin bag, it would be the perfect companion. The only little issue was that I couldn’t wear it over my shoulder and I had planned to take lots of pictures and additionally take notes which meant that I didn’t want to have to hold the bag all the time. So what to do?

Vor ein paar Wochen fragte ich mich, welche Tasche ich zum Hermès Festival des Métiers nehmen sollte? Ich nahm an, dass es ein sehr farbenfroher Tag werden würde und da fiel die Entscheidung sehr leicht: meine kleine Vibrato Picotin Hand-Tasche sollte mit. Ich wollte aber viele Fotos und zusätzlich Notizen machen, deshalb wollte ich die Tasche nicht die ganze Zeit über in der Hand halten müssen. Also, was tun?

I decided to make a shoulder strap with an Hermès scarf. One of my favorite scarves is Chasse en Inde in purple, pink and orange. The motif was originally designed for the 1986 year of India by Michel Duchene. This one is a re-issue from fall 2008 and I wear it a lot, because the colors flatter my skin and it goes very well with the colors in my wardrobe.

Ich beschloss, einen Träger aus einem Hermès Tuch zu machen. Eines meiner Lieblingstücher ist Chasse en Inde in lila, pink und orange. Es wurde von Michel Duchene ursprünglich für das Indien-Jahr 1986 designt. Das Tuch in dieser Farbgebung stammt aus der Herbst Kollektion 2008 und ich trage es andauernd, denn es schmeichelt meinem Hautton und ist die ideale Ergänzung zu den Farben in meiner Garderobe.

Since colors of the Picotin are in harmony with those of the scarf I figured it could look quite nice. I folded the scarf in basic fold…

Da die Farben der Picotin mit denen des Tuches harmonieren dachte ich mir, dass diese Kombination gut passen würde. Das Tuch habe ich ganz klassisch zu einem schmalen Schal gefaltet..

…and added a large MaiTai Shawl Ring in sunshine honey to the scarf. I pulled the folded scarf through the handles of the Picotin and simply tied the ends together in a knot and tucked the ends under the scarf ring. The Shawl Ring works like a buckle here and looks very nice as well.

…und fügte noch einen großen MaiTai Schalring im Farbton “Sunhine Honey” hinzu. Das Tuch habe ich einfach durch die Griffe der Tasche gezogen, die Enden verknotet und diese dann unter dem Tuchring versteckt. Der Schalring übernimmt hier die Funktion einer Schnalle – nicht nur funktionstüchtig, sondern auch schön.

I love my little Vibrato Picotin bag and mainly wear it in spring and summer. But adding a scarf as a shoulder strap makes the bag so much more wearable!

Ich liebe meine kleine Picotin Tasche in Vibrato-Leder und trage sie hauptsächlich in der warmen Jahreszeit. Ein Tuch als Schultergurt zu verwenden, eröffnet ganz neue Perspektiven; ich trage die Tasche dadurch viel öfter!
