My friends are located all over Europe, so we try to make a point to see each other at least for one long weekend per year. Trying to find a date and a location that suits us all isn’t an easy task, but a city we all fell in love with is Barcelona. We found the city so inviting that on a very cheerful evening we agreed, should we ever win the lottery, we’d buy an apartment that we could share. But before purchasing a flat, I guess it would be advisable to rent one (i.e. with HouseTrip.de) and check-out if we’re generally capable of living together, don’t you agree?

Meine Freunde sind quer durch Europa verstreut. Wir versuchen uns wenigstens einmal im Jahr für ein langes Wochenende zu treffen, dabei ist es gar nicht so leicht einen Ort und einen Zeitpunkt zu finden, der uns allen passt. Aber in die Stadt Barcelona haben wir uns alle verliebt. Sie hat uns derartig in ihren Bann gezogen, dass wir an einem äußerst lustigen Abend beschlossen uns dort zusammen eine Wohnung zu kaufen, sollten wir jemals den Jackpot knacken. Aber bevor man so ein Unterfangen in die Tat umsetzt, sollte man vielleicht erst ‘mal das WG-Leben mit den Freunden testen (z.B. bei HouseTrip.de), oder?

What to do with friends in Barcelona? Walk down La Rambla in the center of the city and head for Mercat la Boqueria, a public market, where you can find everything from fresh fish to fresh produce.

Was kann man mit Freunden in Barcelona unternehmen? Die Rambla entlang spazieren und die Mercat de la Boqueria, eine Markthalle besuchen, wo man von frischem Fisch über frisches Obst alles bekommt.

Get your lunch there or find one of the many little tapas bars and then walk further on to the harbor and beach. I told you long ago that whenever I see water I have to stick my feet into it.

Dort kann man gleich zu Mittag essen, oder sich in einer der vielen Tapas Bars gütlich tun. Anschließend geht’s weiter Richtung Hafen und Strand. – Sobald ich das Meer sehe, muss ich meine Füsse hinein stecken, wie ich Ihnen vor vor langer Zeit schon erzählte.

There are many restaurants and cafés located directly by the beach, some of them with huge lounge chairs, on which you can spend a couple of hours enjoying the sun and a glass of Cava and chatting away in the company of friends. Dinner can be a casual or a fancy affair, depending on what you prefer, Barcelona has a lot to offer!

Es gibt viele direkt am Strand gelegene Restaurants und Cafés – einige haben sogar große, bequeme Clubsessel, in denen man einige Stunden in der Sonne mit einem Glas Cava verbringen und das Zusammensein mit den Freunden genießen kann. Ob man es eher lässig oder schick zum Abendessen mag, Barcelona hat alles im Angebot!

Interested in Art? Then you can see many buildings by Antoni Gaudi, visit the Pablo Picasso museum in the center of the city or the Fundació Joan Miró, situated on a hill.

Kunstinteressiert? Dann unbedingt die vielen Antoni Gaudi Gebäude anschauen, das im Zentrum gelegene Pablo Picasso Museum oder die auf dem Berg gelegene Fundatió Joan Miró anschauen.

And when you’re tired of walking the many streets and visiting the many sights you go home to your holiday flat and rest your tired body to the tunes of Freddie Mercury’s and Montserat Caballe’s Barcelona.
