A couple of days ago I received Louis Vuitton’s new glossy mag THE BOOK in the mail, a fun read! An article that really appealed to me was “The 1001 Lives of a Keepall”. Four bags aged from 1 to 31 years were shown and described by their owners by these keywords: “The First Time”, “Use”, “Contents” and “What XYZ thinks of her Keepall”.

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich Louis Vuittons neues Hochglanz-Magazin THE BOOK im Briefkasten gefunden. Ein Artikel hat es mir ganz besonders angetan, nämlich “Die 1001 Leben der Keepall”. Vier Taschen Im Alter von 1 bis 31 Jahren wurden in kurzen Zügen unter den Stichworten: “Das Erste Mal”, “Benutzung”, “Inhalt” und “Was XYZ von Ihrer Keepall hält” vorgestellt.  

The idea to invite you to a “blog party” was born. You can join in showing your Keepall and share the link! So here we go with MY small Keepall 45 (cm).

Der brachte mich auf die Idee zu einer “Blog-Party” einzuladen, bei der auch Sie Ihre Keepalls vorstellen und wir miteinander verlinken können! Los geht’s mit meiner kleinen Keepall 45 (cm).

My Keepall is 14 years old.

The First Time: I purchased her in fall 2000.

Meine Keepall ist 14 Jahre alt.

Das Erste Mal: Ich habe sie im Herbst 2000 gekauft.

Use: In the beginning I only used her for weekend travels between my old and new home. Now she travels everywhere with me.

Gebrauch: Anfangs habe ich sie nur für Wochenend-Reisen zwischen meinem alten und neuen Zuhause benutzt. Nun reist sie überall mit mir hin.

Contents: everything but the kitchen sink! Magazines, books, toiletries, some clothes, small pillow, shawl, sweets       😉

Inhalt: Alles, was nicht niet- und nagelfest ist! Zeitschriften, Bücher, Toilettenartikel, ein paar Sachen zum Anziehen, kleines Kissen, Schal, Süßkram        😉

What I think of my Keepall: She’s the ideal travel companion. The Monogram canvas is soft and can be filled up to the brim. I use her as a foot rest when placed underneath the front seat in an airplane, as a back rest when a flight is cancelled or delayed and I need to sit on the airport floor and wait or even as a pillow if there’s nothing else available. And if I’ve got too much hand luggage, she travels in the belly of the plane, after all, she is a piece of luggage – that I wouldn’t want to miss!

Was ich von meiner Keepall halte: Sie ist die perfekte Reisegefährtin, weil das Monogram Canvas weich ist und bis oben hin befühlt werden kann. Ich benutze sie als Fußstütze, wenn sie unter dem vorderen Sitz im Flugzeug platziert ist, verwende sie als Rückenstützen, wenn mal wieder ein Flug ausfällt und nur mehr Plätze am Boden übrig sind oder sogar als Kopfkissen, wenn nichts anderes verfügbar ist. Und wenn ich viel zu viel Handgepäck dabei habe, dann reist sie im Gepäckraum des Flugzeuges, denn immerhin ist sie ein Stück Reisegepäck – das ich nicht mehr missen möchte!
