Inside the Vienna State Opera – concert hall / Im Inneren der Wiener Staatsoper – Konzertsaal
This week’s photo challenge calls for a picture that depicts scale. Here’s an example of scale – isn’t the room huge? Can you see how tiny the people are in contrast? As of Tuesday the concert hall of the State Opera will be transformed within 30 hours into a ball room. Why all this? Because on Thursday evening, 12th of February, the 59th Vienna Opera Ball will take place here.
Die Weekly Photo Challenge widmet sich dem Thema Maßstab. Hier ist ein Beispiel dafür. Ist dieser Raum nicht riesig? Und die Menschen sind im Vergleich dazu winzig. Ab Dienstag wird der Konzertsaal der Staatsoper innerhalb von 30 Stunden in einen Ballsaal verwandelt. Warum? Weil am Donnerstag, 12. Februar, der 59. Wiener Opernball hier stattfinden wird.

I’ve waltzed onstage during La Traviata as a member of the chorus. Libiamo! I have difficulty walking now but the Opera Ball is certainly the stuff of dreams.
