In 1998 my friend and I participated in the Louis Vuitton Classic China Run. We drove with vintage cars in 6 days hundreds of miles from Dalian to Beijing. Having had the possibility to drive through a foreign country with my own car, see it with my own eyes, experience the foods with my own taste buds and smell the fragrances with my own nostrils – it was a once in a lifetime experience I will never ever forget!. At the end of the rally we were rewarded with a gala evening held at the Forbidden City in Beijing, another indescribable experience. We were happy that all of us had arrived safely and I had a very good laugh when I noticed that the bread rolls were backed in the shape of an L and a V. Sometimes one doesn’t need a trophy to put on a pedestal – sometimes the memories are reward enough.

🙂 We were very well taken care of! At times it seemed as if we were driving in a safe bubble through China! I think I’ll blog about that experience in the near future.
A very HAPPY Sunday to you! 🙂

🙂 Yeah! NO Instagram then and old fashioned “film” cameras.
I have to work out how to get the pictures digital so that I can post them with my China Rally story. Could take a little while though 😉
HAPPY Sunday! 🙂

🙂 I think I had managed to get some of them on a CD, will check. Worst case scenario: I’ll take digital pictures of the pictures in my album. 🙂

This is utterly mad …. and fantastic. What an amazing thing to take part in and all the memories that you now carry. Love the rolls, did you save them or did you eat them????
März 9, 2015
🙂 If I had saved them, they would have probably walked away by now by themselves 😉
No, I ate them at that time. I guess I was hungry. But at least my friend took a picture of me holding the bread rolls 😀 xo

Great adventure …. the rolls would have disappeared by themselves – bread to that if it’s not too moist. But I would have saved them for so long as possible.
