I’ve just spent a wonderful weekend in Hamburg in-between car enthusiasts, family and friends (more to come soon). For this week’s photo challenge I found a picture of a dark blue Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster enveloped by his beautifully shaped curvy bigger sisters – to the left a cream colored Mercedes 300 S and on its right a blue Mercedes 300 “Adenauer”, both Coupes and witnesses of a rich past. – Do you like vintage cars?
Ich habe gerade ein sehr schönes Wochenende in Hamburg inmitten von Auto Liebhabern, Familie und Freunden verbracht (in Kürze mehr). Für diese Photo Challenge habe ich ein Foto eines dunkelblauen Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster gefunden, der von seinen größeren und formvollendeten Cabriolet Schwestern eingerahmt wird – zur linken ein cremefarbener Mercedes 300 S und zu seiner rechten ein blauer Mercedes 300 “Adenauer”, Zeugen einer bewegten Vergangenheit. – Wie gefallen Ihnen Oldtimer?

Da sind wir uns ja unerkannt über den Weg gelaufen. 🙂 Ich war auch am Friedrich-Ebert Damm. Hatte schon vermutet, Du könntest auch dort sein. Es gibt übrigens reichlich Bilder auf meinem Blog. Ich bin ein großer Oldtimer-Fan.

🙂 Ich wollte Dir von dort eine E-Mail schicken, um Dir zu sagen, dass ich auch da bin und wir mal kurz “moin moin!” sagen und ein Gesicht zum Blog des anderen bekommen. Konnte aber auf die Schnelle auf Deinem Blog nirgends Deine Kontaktdaten finden! Warst Du noch beim Start der Ausfahrt in der MB NDL vor Ort? Da war jemand, den ich ansprechen wollte – aber dann war derjenige plötzlich weg…
Die letzten Tage waren etwas anstrengend – ich habe auch noch viele Fotos. Werde aber zu Deinem Blog verlinken, keine Sorge, ich kenne ja Deine tollen Fotos!

Nein, morgens beim Start war ich nicht dabei. Ich habe beim eigentlichen Clubtreffen die Leere und das besondere Licht der Halle genutzt und in aller Ruhe Fotos gemacht. Den Geruch eines 300 SL-Motors, der auf eigener Achse über die Autobahn angereist ist, bekommt man ja auch nicht alle Tage in die Nase. Ja, das hätte mit einer Mail klappen können. Die findest Du auf der “über mich”-Seite. Die Bilder auf meinem Blog hatte ich natürlich nicht im Hinblick auf eine mögliche Verlinkung erwähnt, das wäre ja zutiefst unhanseatisch. 😉 Bist Du bei “Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik” dabei? Dann gäbe es einen weiteren Versuch.

🙂 Aha, das kann ich verstehen – ich finde Auto-Fotos ohne Menschen auch recht schön – Deine sind wieder ganz toll! – aber das bekomme ich hier halt nicht hin 😉
Nein, bei der Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik werde ich nicht dabei sein. Ich bin mir aber sicher, dass wir uns irgendwann irgendwo über den Weg laufen werden – der Auto-Sommer ist ja gerade erst angefangen.

Great entry …. I thought that it maybe something to do with cars! This true beauty. I love vintage cars – today all cars look the same, even the boxy Volvo. Hard to separate the brands. I wish you a great week.

I agree – I love the old curvy models. They all had typical “faces” – today they all look more or less alike. I don’t believe that the designers had that in mind. They only stand out car in my opinion is the Porsche 911 – an oldie, but a goodie, as are the vintage Mercedes 300 SL Gullwings and Roadsters.

Porsche 911 is the ultimate sport car in my book, just because of the design. I would never be able to get out of a car like that … if I ever manage to get in one. My favorite is that sport car is Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren – seen one once and love at first sight. The Gullwings must be the the first of that of design.
