It all began a couple of months ago when my friend and blogger sister Wivi announced she was coming to Vienna in November. Excellent! The last time we saw each other was on a stinking hot summer day in August 2014 (here). Since then we’ve been in touch by comments on both our blogs, emails and post cards. I was looking forward to a fun filled day with my Swedish friend.
What better way than starting the day with a hearty breakfast at one of the most traditional Cafés in Vienna – Café Landtmann? Wivi and I met there and the minute we sat down and our legs rested our jaws started to move. On and on. So many questions, so much information. In between we somehow managed to order scrambled eggs with tomatoes and chives, fresh, crispy bread rolls, croissants, cappuccino and caffe latte. And on we went again…
So viele Fragen, so viel Information.
Although Wivi had celebrated her birthday two months earlier, I felt it was appropriate to say Happy Birthday in person with a tiny cake. Landtmann offers a huge selection of cakes and I picked this little chocolate cake. The chandelier I brought along was almost too big for it – but it’s quite impressive, isn’t it?

The weather was brilliant and so we walked a bit through the first district and made our way to the Albertina Museum, were another famous Scandinavian is visiting. The Edvard Munch exhibition Love, Death and Loneliness is showing there until 24th January, 2016. It’s rather dark and a bit depressive at times. However, it’s interesting and worth seeing.
I guess the most photographed painting last Saturday was the Scream by Edvard Munch.
We must have spent 3 hours in the museum, walking, looking, taking pictures and talking in-between. Our day ended at Ristorante Fiorenzano with pasta, more chitchat and a delicious desert. We had such a wonderful time. It was so much fun!
We don’t know yet when and where we’ll meet again – Landskrona? Hamburg? On a QEII cruise to New York? We’ll just have to wait and see. For now it’s “Bye-Bye, Wivi, see you soon! xo”
🙂 Wishing you a very HAPPY Wednesday! 🙂
🙂 Ich wünsche Ihnen einen sehr SCHÖNEN Mittwoch! 🙂

I hope it will take less then a year before we meet again … I don’t care about where, so long it happens. The journey back home went smooth and now laundry day. Thanks again for “telling” our story.
