RDP Ragtag Daily Prompt: My Love for Orange

WERBUNG durch Namensnennung orange-farbener Produkte

.

I love orange! It’s one of my favorite colors. And all of those who know me will agree. Of course it’s only my second or third favorite color, because purple is my absolute favorite. However, you’ll find lots of pinks and reds in my closet as well.

Ever since WordPress stopped the weekly photo challenges here there are more and more groups offering alternative challenges. The Ragtag Daily prompt here or Cee’s For the Love of Challenges here are only two of them. Lately I haven’t been very active, because work is keeping me so busy. But when I read today’s prompt I figured it’s time to show some orange  🙂

Here wer go. To me orange stands for sunshine and happiness. It can really help change a mood. It’s hardly possibly to be sad when wearing this shade. For many years I didn’t even get close to it. I thought it was far too bright for me. That changed. I don’t recall when I started wearing orange.

Its not that I wear it head to toe, but I like to accessorize with orange details. Nail polish is a nice eye catcher combined with a matching bracelet. Great for summer holidays

Orange will brighten a blue mood on a rainy winter day. Adding a pop of color to a classic outfit with a silk or cashmere scarf will do nicely. It can make all the difference.

What about jazzing up a plain t-shirt, sweater or dress with a bold pendant? I’ve had most of my scarves for a very long time. And I have to admit that after a very hot summer I’m quite looking forward to wearing them again.

.

What about you? How do you like orange? Do you wear it? And if so – how?

Morgen.

    Hi Claudia,

I share your affinity for orange, a most underrated colour in my books. Over the years I have scooped up scarves with orange, t-shits, blouses, sweaters, and anything else I can find. Your post is perfect for fall, where various shades & tones of orange flourish!

The fact that purple is your first favorite colour is great because it is so complimentary with orange and I often see them paired together in clothing & artwork.

Today in recognition of your post I am wearing my favourite orange scarf! Since I am quite pale, the orange hue works well with my skin tone and makes my completion look a little tanned which is a bonus since I protect my face from actual UV rays.

    Have a wonderful day!

      🙂 Hi Lisa,

I agree, orange is often underrated. Especially since it’s quite hard to mix shades of oranges.
Many years ago a friend and I were in HongKong where we went shopping at Shanghai Tang
My friend came back with an orange silk suit. My gosh, it was fantastic! In those days I wasn’t ready for a pop of color. I opted for navy blue 😉

So what is the scarf you are/were wearing? Cotton? Silk? Large? Small? Other colors apart from orange?
      I’m curious…

Have a very HAPPY day xo 🙂

        Hi Claudia,

The orange suit you described was quite a bold choice indeed, truth be told I would have opted for Navy Blue as well. Did you ever wear your suits at the same time? That would certainly have looked sharp!
I have an orange silk long rectangle scarf that I pair with a plain purple silk scarf, I have a cotton long rectangle scarf that is half orange with small white flowers and the other half is forest green with small flowers. One of my favorites that I picked up in Leon from a Bata shoe store (seems strange but they had scarves too) is a cotton gauze like fabrics that has a modern pattern with dollops of a wedgewood shade of blue running through it I tend to wear these with a jean jacket or French trench coat.
Always on the hunt for more orange. This summer I found an amazing bright orange tank top trimmed with fringe, very nice with coulats, jeans or dress pants.
For some reason, orange, greens, and rusts are making their way back into the stores this fall.

        Cheers!

🙂 Yes, we wore them together, dear Lisa!
I have a picture of the two of us wearing our suits, I just have to find it 😉
Your scarves sound interesting. I especially like the combination of orange and purple (you didn’t expect anything else, did you? hehehe) and of green and orange.
Well, fall is only days away, hence we’ll be seeing a lot more orange pumpkins and colors matching that category. I’m looking forward to it.
Have a very HAPPY weekend! xo 🙂

    Dear Claudia,
Pink, violet and orange are your colours indeed. Orange is a happy and merry colour -I sometimes wear something, only as an accent,a scarf or my lovely old orange Lancel French Flair tote during the summer
    Have a nice evening

      🙂 Dear Dottoressa,
Lancel has lovely bags! What kind of style is your orange bag?
Long ago I had a red Lancel bucket bag and I wore it till it fell apart.
You have a nice evening, too! 🙂

        The name is French Flair
It is discontinued, but you could google it under Photos
Lancel had it under Totes,it has a more oval shape, with the open top (it is disadvantage-I wear zipped pouch for wallet and documents inside),two sides (I’ve never wear the other side, something like very dark taupe)
        Have a nice Friday

🙂 Thank you very much, Laura!
I agree – a gray day calls for an orange accessory. And fields of pumpkins will brighten our days, too.
Have a very HAPPY weekend 🙂
