Today is 2nd December – can it be 9 months since I’ve joined share your world last ? Yup. And so much has happened since. Today’s questions somehow appealed to me, so here goes...
Wir haben den 2. Dezember – ist es tatsächlich schon 9 Monate her, seit ich zuletzt bei Share Your World teilgenommen habe? Ja! Und in der Zwischenzeit ist so viel passiert. Die heutigen Fragen haben mich aber irgendwie angesprochen und deshalb geht’s schon los…

1. What’s your remedy for the Holiday blues?
I don’t have that one special remedy to fall back on to. I do whatever comes to mind. Holiday blues are part of life, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Gluehwein / mulled wine is typical for the holidays
.
2. Your favorite beverage (if it differs) during the holiday season?
I don’t have a favorite beverage during the holiday season. I might drink a “gluehwein”, something like a mulled wine, once or twice during Christmas time. Other than that I like hot tea when I’m freezing cold, because I feel it warms me up better than coffee.

3. This one has been asked before, but what’s your take on pumpkin spice?
I like a bit of pumpkin spice seasoning in my coffee. However, I bought two different kinds of flavored pumpkin spice coffee and both were absolutely atrocious!
Ein wenig Pumpkin Spice Gewürz mag ich ganz gern im Kaffee. Ich habe mir jedoch zwei verschiedene Sorten von Pumpkin Spice Kaffee gekauft und beide waren grauenhaft!

WHITE CHRISTMAS
The sun is shining, the grass is green
The orange and palm trees sway
I’ve never seen such a day in Beverly Hills, L.A.
But it’s December the 24th and I am longing to be up North
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the tree-tops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
. Lyrics by Bing Crosby

1. What’s your remedy for the Holiday blues?
Too excited about life to have Holiday Blues, but if I did….just looking at my christmas tree brings me back to my jolly old me : )
2. Your favorite beverage (if it differs) during the holiday season?
I am a coffee drinker…all year around, but during the holidays I also enjoy an eggnog.
3. This one has been asked before, but what’s your take on pumpkin spice?
Love the smell of pumpkin spice and love pumpkin pie with vanilla ice-cream. I am not a fan of pumpkin spice in my coffee.
4. Share a song that you enjoy during this Winter season
Hard Candy Christmas
Dolly Parton
Hey, maybe I’ll dye my hair
Maybe I’ll move somewhere
Maybe I’ll get a car
Maybe I’ll drive so far
That I’ll lose track
Me, I’ll bounce right back
Maybe I’ll sleep real late
Maybe I’ll lose some weight
Maybe I’ll clear my junk
Maybe I’ll just get drunk on apple wine
Me, I’ll be just
Fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy Christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down
I’ll be fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy Christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow get me way down
Hey, maybe I’ll learn to sew
Maybe I’ll just lie low
Maybe I’ll hit the bars
Maybe I’ll count the stars until dawn
Me, I will go on
Maybe I’ll settle down
Maybe I’ll just leave town
Maybe I’ll have some fun
Maybe I’ll meet someone
And make him mine
Me, I’ll be just
Fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy Christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down
I’ll be fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy Christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down
I’ll be fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy Christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down
‘Cause I’ll be fine
(I’ll be fine)
Oh, I’ll be fine

Hard Candy Christmas is one of my favorite ‘country christmas’ tunes! Thanks for sharing that! 😀

I love Christmas, so I’m generally not blue at all. Today I’m going to start putting up decorations, so your post put me in the mood! I’m not a pumpkin spice person, so that part of the holiday season doesn’t interest me. My hot drink is tea, tea, and more tea. 🙂 As for songs, Christmas hymns, traditional or contemporary, and songs from “White Christmas” (one of our favorite Christmas movies along with “Elf”) would fill the bill quite nicely.
Thanks for surfacing in such a festive spirit. Sending lots of love and hugs your way.
