Tears in Heaven – Tears on Earth

Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton is one of my favorite songs, which I’m sharing with you because I’m feeling blue today. I could have added pictures of Lillies, Orchids or Roses. However, I bought some fresh Parrot Tulips a couple of days ago and I’ve gotten the impression that I can observe how they’re blossoming by the minute. It’s amazing!

Would you know my name?

If I saw you in heaven

Would it be the same?

If I saw you in heaven

I must be strong

And carry on

‘Cause I know I don’t belong

Here in heaven

Would you hold my hand?

If I saw you in heaven

Would you help me stand?

If I saw you in heaven

I’ll find my way

Through night and day

‘Cause I know I just can’t stay

Here in heaven

Time can bend your knees

Time can break your heart

Have you begging please

Begging please

Beyond the door

There’s peace, I’m sure

And I know there’ll be no more

.

As many of you probably know Eric Clapton wrote TEARS IN HEAVEN after his 4 year old son Conor fell out of the window of a New York apartment building. It was his way of dealing with this terrible loss.

tulip in full bloom – what a beauty!

TEARS IN HEAVEN

Eric has said, “My question was ‘Will I see you again?’ In a sense, it wasn’t even a sad song. It was a song of belief. When it talks about there will be no more tears in heaven, I think its a song of optimism, of reunion. What was worrying me was I hope to God we didn’t meet up in some kind of heaven hotel lobby and just walk by one another.” (From the 5 April 1998 Australian 60 Minutes interview).

For those of you who haven’t heard Tears in Heaven in a long time (or never before), here’s a link to an interview, where Eric Clapton performed it for the very first time.

.

The song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Nevertheless, being able to let them flow does help big time in my opinion.

HappyFace313

no more tears when you see this parrot tulip in full bloom

.

After all the sadness – happiness comes back by just looking at these amazing tulips.

Don’t you agree?

Caring is sharing, hence I’ve linked this post to Cee’s Tulip post HERE.

The flowers are beautiful, Claudia. What a sad yet hopeful song. It reminds me of this song that Toby Mac wrote after his son died from an accidental overdose. I just love it:

I completely agree, such a sad song on the tragedy of loosing a child, so very moving. When I hear it it always makes me wonder about meeting people again, and so many questions.

      🙂 So true, dear Susan!
I think the most important thing is to never stop telling the people that surround us how much we care for them.
      Happy Easter to you 🙂

Tom Waits – “I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You” oder Sons Of Bill “Find My Way Back Home” (beides bei you tube).

      🙂 Dear Cee,
I thought you might like them. Even when they started loosing their petals I had to keep them a tad longer. They were so amazing!
You stay safe and HAPPY, too! 🙂
