It’s time for another Share Your World – I know, it’s been way too long! So I won’t waste any more time and here I go:

WHAT DID YOU LEARN THE HARD WAY?
Speaking my mind isn’t always a good idea… Let me give you an example:
Many years ago I started working for smart – the micro car company. My new colleague wasn’t exactly what you would call helpful in passing on information. Although he was supposed to train me on the job, all he did was pass me a couple of big, fat files and told me to read them. It was a lot of paper and many words on them. On day number three I was bored out of my mind. For some reason – although the company’s language was German – the whole thing was written in English. I have no idea why. And from the way it was written I could detect that the person who put this manual together was not an english speaking native. I guess my face spoke issues, when he asked me how I liked it.
I was fed-up and thought he was pulling my leg with that question. So I answered something like: “It’s boring! And the grammar is lousy to the point that this makes no sense. Who wrote this?”
“T. and I did!” was his reply.
Need I say that he and I never made friends?

WHICH ACTIVITIES MAKE YOU LOSE TRACK OF TIME?
Spending time with loved ones or friends, reading a good book or working on something I thoroughly enjoy.

Tell ’em that you love ’em, tell ’em that you care – art by Keith Haring
.
WHY DO WE SEEM TO THINK OF OTHERS THE MOST AFTER THEY’RE GONE?
I wish I knew! Perhaps because we believe that they’ll always be around?
It has happened twice in my life that people were suddenly “gone” and that struck me to the core and almost broke my heart. What I’ve learned is that there might not be a second chance to say I LOVE YOU or I’M SORRY. Hence I’m not shy to say that I care if I do and say what I feel. Time is limited, so why play games or waste it with a bunch of baloney?
.

truth is – if you make someone smile YOU, too, will feel better!
.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO KNOW THE TRUTH WITHOUT CHALLENGING IT FIRST?
Tricky question! But I would say yes, sometimes we know the truth from deep inside, yet we don’t follow what our inner gut says. That may lead to complications and will have us say “I knew it!” in the end.

WORDS OF GRATITUDE
I spent a lovely afternoon with my daughter. We talked about everything and nothing and once again I was amazed at how mature she is in many of her opinions and how big-hearted in general. And to top it all off, she sent me home with the most beautiful violet red peonies from her garden. Every single one – even the tiniest buds – started to blossom once I put them in various vases at home.

Thank you Claudia for Sharing Your World! Those peonies are GORGEOUS! How lovely they must look in your home, and in your daughter’s garden! What a treasure! <3 We've all probably put our foot in our mouth about something a co-worker said or did. I'm glad actually that you spoke out. Maybe he got a clue that his manual needed a lot of work. Translating from one language to another must be difficult, and that's even more reason to me to make sure one does the best possible job at that. You were right in my opinion. Those bracelets are beautiful, what a work of art! Beading takes time and skill and you've got a wonderful talent there! Have a great week!

I can feel your chagrin in that first situation, Claudia. Ouch! Your beading looks good and I’m in total agreement with not letting the day go by without apologizing or telling/showing someone how much you love them. You never know what will happen and life’s too short to not make relationships right.
Your daughter looks so much like you and the peonies are beautiful too.
